From: Mitotic slippage in non-cancer cells induced by a microtubule disruptor, disorazole C1
Model: response of non-cancer cells to microtubule inhibitors. Disorazole is proposed to activate two sequential cell cycle checkpoints. The first is the APC-dependent arrest at mitosis; when that fails, a second arrest at G1 is observed. p53 stabilization may mediate both events but is not required for the mitotic slippage that acts independent of the traditional p53-dependent apoptosis pathways.
